The party wisely fled Last Bear's forest with the lumberjacks from Velders. They split ways to regroup with their horses and made their way back to Velders.
Calder and Joffrey were in a heated argument about whether or not the lumberjacks could come back into the village.
The party aided Calder in winning over enough villagers to start freeing them from their helmets, then followed after Joffrey who was attempting to flee from town.
The party offered to let him stay in charge of the town, as long as he behaved himself and continued to act in his role. They set some of the trusted lumberjacks as body guards to Joffrey to keep him in line.
Next on the party's agenda was a tower they could see in the distance. Previously (when the helmets obscured their vision of reality) the tower was hidden. Deducing that a tower the enemy didn't want them to see should be investigated, they headed towards it.
Along the way, they caught a Screamer factor being dropped. Some quick thinking from Virel led to the strategy of exploding the hot air balloon, sending the Screamer Overseers falling from the sky - damaging them and killing some of their guard dogs.
Dragonboy stood his ground and protected the party while everyone else dispatched them before they could do too much damage.
They found three undamaged batteries and four working Screamer Shrapnel Gauntlets.
They made camp that evening and then finished their journey to the tower.
