This campaign is set in a world inspired by the "weird" pulp fiction sword & sorcery prevalent from the 60s to the early 80s. Think swords, dwarves, and elves...but also dinosaurs, tanks, nuclear wastelands and mutants.
The world and it's history are largely unknown. The old gods are dead or in hiding, their once mighty powers stolen or subverted. Your long gone ancestors thrived as members of advanced civilizations that travelled the stars... but those were better times.
Today, society has collapsed into individual realms claimed by insane, practically immortal wizards with reality-bending magical powers and access to technology beyond the understanding of anyone alive today. At best, these wizards are aloof and disconnected, but they are more often evil and cruel.
